They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeping and Payroll Manager to join their team and lead the department. Work model:
- On-Site
- Hours during the busy season: 40 hours/week
- Hours during the non-busy season: 36 hours/week (office closes at noon on Fridays)
- Supervise and mentor a team of two bookkeepers
- Ensure high-quality performance by providing guidance and support to bookkeepers
- Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development and training
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
- Ensure and review the accuracy of client financial records and reports
- Process client's payroll and file tax deposits
- Pull quarterly and year-end reports
- Address client inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly
- Oversee the recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and clients
- Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement by analyzing financial data
- Evaluate and improve bookkeeping processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping and payroll matters
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Keen attention to detail
