They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeping and Payroll Manager to join their team and lead the department. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm's bookkeeping and payroll services. Work model:

  • On-Site
  • Hours during the busy season: 40 hours/week
  • Hours during the non-busy season: 36 hours/week (office closes at noon on Fridays)
What you will do:
  • Supervise and mentor a team of two bookkeepers
  • Ensure high-quality performance by providing guidance and support to bookkeepers
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development and training
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
  • Ensure and review the accuracy of client financial records and reports
  • Process client's payroll and file tax deposits
  • Pull quarterly and year-end reports
  • Address client inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly
  • Oversee the recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and clients
  • Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement by analyzing financial data
  • Evaluate and improve bookkeeping processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Implement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping and payroll matters
What you will need to be successful:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and team members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
