About Us
The Des Moines Buccaneers have been a steady and reliable presence in the Central Iowa community since the fall of 1980, providing 30+ years of consistent entertainment and community givebacks.
Des Moines Buccaneer games are build around the motto ''Everyone Must Have Fun'' and it's the mission of the team that all spectators leave with a smile on their face regardless of the games outcome.
The Buccaneers are a member of the United States Hockey League, a developmental league featuring players between the ages of 16-20. The USHL is the top amateur developmental league in the country with almost all of the players each season receiving scholarships to Division I universities. From there, players move on the professional hockey. The Buccaneers have been host to over 50 NHL players/coaches and more than 200 college recruits.
