Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the network, desktops, servers, phones, and services proactively
  • Assist in the management of the company’s hardware and software assets, including inventory, licensing compliance, and warranties
  • Oversee the implementation, support, and daily operation, including Windows servers, VMware servers, SAN, network infrastructure, and related systems
  • Perform firmware, hardware, and OS upgrades and required patch management
  • Perform Tier II and Tier III support for incidents and requests from various constituencies
  • Research and troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain and add to our knowledge base and documentation
  • Collaborate with decision makers, systems owners, members of IT, and end users to define technical business requirements and systems goals
  • Carry out other job-related duties and special projects as needed

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science, MIS, or related degree.
  • 3+ years of network/system support experience
  • Highly motivated, innovative, self-directed thinker 
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills
  • Ability to meet delaines 
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Must be physically able to perform minor lifting of equipment, climbing or crawling to install equipment and run cables, and occasionally long periods sitting at a workstation
  • Willingness  to travel to company locations
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Experience with desktop, server, and mobile operating systems (Windows, iOS, Android, Linux), Virtualization (VMWare), Remote Access
  • Experience with layered infrastructure security 
  • Willingness to work some weekends and/or after-hours
  • Knowledge of SAN environments, including design, management, and maintenance of HA solutions in an enterprise data center
  • Hands-on experience administering O365
  • Background with GPOs
  • Prior experience with Powershell scripting is desired
  • Knowledge of VOIP phone systems
  • Remote desktop management
  • Understanding of best practices for handling malware, phishing, and virus exposures preferred
