What you will do:

  • Offer mentorship, technical guidance, and code review for a team of developers and data engineers specializing in analytics and integration
  • Construct and implement end-to-end data pipelines using Kafka, dbt, Snowflake, and modern ELT/ETL approaches
  • Create, develop, and manage APIs and event-based integrations that prioritize performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability
  • Lead the evolution of legacy data flows and integration models towards cloud-based environments
  • Collaborate with product owners, solution architects, and data architects to align organizational needs with practical technology solutions
  • Set and enforce standards for data engineering and integration across CI/CD, data governance, and testing
  • Confirm that all integration and data solutions are in compliance with both company and industry standards for auditability and security
  • Identify and recommend innovative tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance data delivery and streamline integration

What you will need to be successful:

  • College degree in information science, computer science, or management information systems (preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in IT development (preferred)
  • Experience serving as a Project Architect and/or Technical Lead for complex, multi-subsystem solution delivery projects (preferred)
  • Experience working in a technical leadership role, leading either integration or data teams
  • Strong Snowflake and SQL skills (Snow SQL, SQL optimization, data modeling, Snow Pipe/Streaming)
  • Demonstrated expertise in event-based Architecture (Azure Event Hubs, Amazon Kinesis, Kafka) and Data Analysis and design, creating enterprise-level data products
  • Comprehensive understanding of dbt/ADF/ADL for transformation, data model orchestration, and version control
  • High-level knowledge of data modeling principles, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing
  • Prior experience executing automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines (Maven, GitHub, Jenkins)
  • Proficiency with cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
  • Background in Agile project delivery and collaboration on enterprise-wide, cross-functional projects
  • Expertise in computer programming languages for automation and data manipulation (Python preferred)
  • Leadership to guide diverse teams through a variety of initiatives
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the capability to collaborate with business partners and staff at all levels of the organization
  • Effective decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills to conduct research and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines promptly
  • Capable of guiding and coordinating team members on tasks without holding HR management responsibility
  • Snowflake certifications (preferred)
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services or Life Insurance fields
