This month's featured speaker is Allison Peet, Qualified Mindfullness-Based Stress Reduction Instructor for the Des Moines Pastoral Counseling Center. As business owners, stress and ownership tend to go hand-in-hand. Allison will be speaking about mindfullness and provide tips on how you can reduce your stress levels.
Mindfulness is an evidence-based, experiential practice that has been proven over the last 40 years to decrease toxic stress, improve focus, creativity and compassion, improve emotion regulation, lower blood pressure and even increase immune response when practiced consistently over time. Learn about what mindfulness is and isn't and discover the healing power of practicing meditation.
, BA, RYT200 is a qualified MBSR™ (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) Instructor trained at UMass Medical , founded by Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. She is trained through and teaches mindfulness to youth, K-12 and is also a registered yoga instructor. She’s completed multiple week-long silent meditation retreats and is committed to a daily practice. Allison has a personal path of living and working with chronic stress and anxiety which is why she started her own business in 2015, , to benefit others. She is committed to creating a more mindful community by helping people develop pragmatic life skills in attentional strength, present moment awareness, self-compassion, and stress resiliency.
