DESCRIPTION:The Urbandale Chamber is holding an informational forum for members to learn more about the Local Option Sales & Service Tax (LOSST) on Friday\, August 2nd from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Urbandale Chamber office in the RODAN Board Room.  \n\n\n\nVoters in the Polk County portion of Urbandale will have the opportunity to vote on approving a one percent local option sales tax on Tuesday\, August 6 and the Urbandale Chamber is encouraging voters to vote yes. \n\n\n\nIf approved\, no less than 50% of the revenue will be used for property tax relief.  The rest of the funds can be used for projects like improvements to streets\, parks\, trails and the storm water system\, public safety and economic development. \n\n \n\nVoters in the Dallas County portion of Urbandale have already approved LOSST.  Over 95% of the Iowa jurisdictions have the 1% LOSST in place.
