IWLC to Lead Women of Achievement Bridge & Award Project
DES MOINES, Iowa –Iowa Women Lead Change has been chosen to take the lead on the Women of Achievement Bridge and corresponding Women of Achievement Award project. IWLC will be forming an advisory committee that includes representation from the Iowa Commission on the Status of Women, Riverfront Development Authority and community volunteers.

“Iowa Women LeadChange supporting the Women of Achievement Bridge is such an exciting project,” Mandi McReynolds, Director, Principal Foundation and Community Relations said. “It’s exactly the type of community involvement we hoped to inspire when we presented our Principal Riverwalk investment to the City of Des Moines in 2004. Since then we’ve seen renewed energy, enthusiasm, and support for the riverfront area in ways we never imagined. Iowa Women Lead Change’s engagement will only continue to strengthen and enhance efforts.”

The next Women of Achievement Award is scheduled to be presented in 2019.
“IWLC is humbled to have been chosen to accept this responsibility,” Tiffany O’Donnell, CEO of Iowa Women Lead Change said. “Celebrating the achievements of women past and present throughout the state of Iowa is one more way to showcase how our women leaders are taking charge and leading change.”

The iconic 434-foot long Women of Achievement Bridge spans the Des Moines River, linking the east and west sides of the city at the northern edge of the riverwalk loop. This single-arch bridge opened on June 28, 2010 and features two pathways - one for pedestrians and one for bicyclists.

Iowa Women Lead Change (IWLC) is a non-partisan, 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the advancement, development and promotion of women, their organizations and to impacting the regional economy. For more information visit www.IWLCLeads.org.
