  • Chief Development Officer (Full Time), Des Moines  
The ideal candidate for the role of Chief Development Officer (CDO) is a leader focused on engaging and empowering the talent of the Development teams (philanthropy and recruitment). Innovative, strategic thinking & planning and an excellent ability to foster relationships round out the deal candidate.

Working closely with the CEO and executive team, you’ll have oversight of the ways GSGI engages new audiences. This includes working closely with the Marketing/ Events Planning teams hosting 4 premiere events annually.  You’ll be tasked with ensuring fundraising goals are developed and met, creating and implementing strategies and department goals, soliciting donors and alumni and building relationships with new and prospective donors.  In addition, you’ll be developing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive year round recruitment strategies, plans and activities related to girl and adult membership growth and retention.  This position ensures all plans support and reinforce the Girl Scout philosophy and standards and cultivates strong organization and community partnerships, elevating and enhancing visibility along with financial support of the Girl Scout mission and program.
  • Bachelor’s degree/ Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Proven experience in successfully managing a team
  • Proven
  • Proven success in sales/ fundraising/ or recruitment with comprehensive knowledge of the fundamentals of effective sales principles
  • Strong attention to detail and proven problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate well both in writing, verbally and strong presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of sales or recruitment best practices
  • Ability to make decisions and drive a sales/ fundraising or recruitment program
  • Demonstrated ability to communicated narratives that enhance fundraising effectiveness
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office products
